Decade … Rocky Patel reaches 10 years

Although much criticized – and I’ve said many times here – no one can say that the hind Americano Rocky Patel is loose. Rather it is a fireball in the promotion, sampling and linked to their cigarettes. It was in 1998 when it launched the adventure of creating its own brand of cigars, the Indian Tobacco Company, which was shattered by the supposedly knowledgeable since he had no background in the industry, much less a name that descended from the legendary island of Cuba. Still, do not give up and in 2008, a decade after its inception, launched the Decade RP, rated 95 by Cigar Aficionado geniuses in early 2009.
Just last week I had the opportunity to taste it (it is said, as recommended) no “smoking it, that’s for cigarettes. And after 10 days of having it in quarantine to recover from the trip from Pennsylvania, I saw a torpedo 152×52 pressing square, very well built, with ripe red layer, seductive aroma pre-lit with a light reminiscent of citrus juice as a background a persistent dark chocolate with milk. At the foot of the cigar smell the aromas of grass were seen wet and farm. Following the recommendation of some friends extinct yet, lit it before cutting. Difficult to let go smoke wait … my patience was running out for cutting.
Persisted but the aroma of chocolate with hints of dark roasted coffee, black and milds , smoke was thick and dense, full of volume to cut the pleasant and of course it’s a discount cigar September night. The flavors were kept until the last third when, under the accumulation of tar in the nose cone, he changed his medium to full body, without losing any of its creamy smoothness. Not for me to point to Patel, but what he did with this cigar totally changed my idea of the Lord. Nor am the one to qualify with 95 (at last, still does not give me a cent of advertising as friends AC), but I do not get upset if we leave it in 94.5!
